Every year our PE department joins up with East Anglian Children’s Hospices (EACH) for the annual Santa Run to raise money for an amazing local charity that helps and works with ill children.

Usually this would take place over the full cross country course on the seafront. However, to ensure we are Covid-19 secure this year, the plans are slightly different, but it will still be a brilliant event to finish the term!

Years 7 to 10 will be taking part in their usual PE lessons over the final week of term and the challenge will be to complete as many laps as possible of Barnard Bridge in 15 minutes. To add to the festive feel of the event, students are invited to wear their favourite Santa Hats!

Students are welcome to collect sponsorship from family and friends to support the event if they feel they are able to. This will be our 7th Annual Santa Run, having raised an incredible total of £8,636.00 in previous years to help this wonderful charity and the amazing work they do.

Since becoming Great Yarmouth Charter Academy we have beaten our previous years donations for three successive years. This would not have been possible without the amazing support of our students, staff, families and the wider academy community.
