Young Out There and Charter Academy Join Forces for Garden Eco Project
Back
Great Yarmouth is buzzing with excitement as Young Out There, a local youth organisation, is collaborating with Great Yarmouth Charter Academy to empower young people through social action projects and performance skills in art, music, and drama. Supported by Out There Arts, Young Out There aims to provide opportunities for youth to engage in meaningful activities that foster creativity, community involvement, and personal growth.
At the end of April, over 30 enthusiastic pupils from Great Yarmouth Charter Academy contributed to the town's Garden Eco Project. The initiative focusses on creating sustainable accessories for gardens to attract local wildlife and promote environmental stewardship. Students are learning to reuse, recycle, and renew old materials into innovative products such as a 'living wall,' wind chimes, and kites.
These eco-friendly creations will be showcased at the Out There Festival in June, highlighting the creative talents and dedication of the young participants. The festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of community spirit and environmental awareness.
Tom Fisher, the organiser from Out There Arts, expressed his admiration for the young participants:
"When young people are passionate about social action, they can make a significant impact on their community. Their creativity and commitment are truly inspiring."
Sean Powell, Senior Vice Principal at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy, emphasised the importance of such events:
"These projects help shape and develop our pupils' interests and skills, enabling them to make a positive difference in the lives of others in their local community."
The collaboration between Young Out There and Great Yarmouth Charter Academy is a testament to the power of youth engagement and the transformative potential of social action projects. As the town eagerly awaits the Out There Festival, the Garden Eco Project stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when young minds come together to create a greener, more sustainable future.
