Charter Pupils Shine at Inspiration Trust Badminton Tournament
Back
On 23rd May, students from Years 7 to 10 travelled to the University of East Anglia to compete in the Inspiration Trust Badminton Competition—and they returned not just with medals, but with pride, passion, and powerful inspiration.
The level of badminton on display was exceptional, but our Charter pupils rose to the challenge with determination and grace. Their commitment to excellence and embodiment of our Charter values were evident in every match played.
The Year 7 Girls team secured a brilliant 3rd place overall, showcasing teamwork and resilience.
Aibeljees (Year 9) was awarded Player of the Tournament for the boys’ category, impressing everyone with his agility and focus.
Francesca (Year 8) earned the Player of the Tournament title for the girls’ category, demonstrating outstanding skill and sportsmanship.
“Once we got going, it felt amazing to be part of a team that supported each other so much,” said Francesca, beaming with pride.
Aibeljees added, “Winning Player of the Tournament was a surprise—I just gave it my all and tried to enjoy every moment.”
Mrs Sam Long, Badminton Lead Coach, praised the students’ efforts:
“Our pupils were phenomenal—not just in their performance, but in their attitude. They supported one another, played with integrity, and truly represented what Charter is all about. I couldn’t be prouder.”
With the badminton tournament behind us, all eyes now turn to the Trust Champions Day and the Athletics Championships coming up in June and July. Our athletes are training hard, and we’re excited to see how they perform on the track and field. Stay tuned for more updates as our Charter stars continue to shine!
