A Night to Remember: Year 11’s Grand Farewell at Great Yarmouth Racecourse

Under the golden glow of the summer sun on Friday, 20th June, the Year 11 leavers of Great Yarmouth Charter Academy came together for one final, unforgettable celebration — Prom 2025. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Yarmouth Racecourse, the evening was nothing short of magical, marking the end of an era and the beginning of exciting new journeys.

From the moment the first engines revved, it was clear this was going to be a night to remember. Our leavers made their grand entrances in style — arriving in everything from sleek sports cars and towering trucks to elegant horses and even a show-stopping Ghostbusters car! The town turned out in full force, lining the entrance to cheer on the stars of the evening. It was a true red-carpet moment, with smiles, cheers, and a few happy tears as the community celebrated this milestone with us.

Inside the venue, the atmosphere was electric. Laughter echoed, music filled the air, and memories were made as students danced, reminisced, and looked ahead to the future. The highlight of the evening came with the crowning of our Prom King and Queen — a moment of joy and pride that captured the unity and friendship that has defined this year group.

As the sun dipped below the horizon and the final songs played, we gathered to say our goodbyes. There were heartfelt words and promises to stay in touch. Staff and students alike shared in the emotion of the evening, proud of how far our Year 11s have come and excited for all that lies ahead.

To our incredible leavers: thank you for the laughter, the lessons, and the legacy you leave behind. You’ve shown resilience, kindness, and courage — qualities that will carry you far in life. Whether you're heading to college, apprenticeships, work, or new adventures, know that you will always be part of the Charter family.
