A group of 20 talented young writers from our school have achieved an incredible milestone—their creative work has been selected for publication as part of the prestigious Young Writers Award. This year, the theme was inspired by the dark and enchanting world of the Grimm Tales, and our students rose to the challenge with imagination, flair, and originality.

Under the expert guidance of Miss Williams, these budding authors honed their craft both in class and through an extra-curricular creative writing club. Her dedication and encouragement provided the perfect environment for students to explore storytelling techniques, develop compelling characters, and bring their unique interpretations of classic tales to life.

“I am so proud of what our students have achieved,” said Miss Williams. “They embraced the challenge of reimagining the Grimm Tales with such creativity and confidence. Seeing their work published is a wonderful reward for their hard work and passion.”

The judging panel was deeply impressed by the creativity, depth, and quality of the submissions. After careful consideration, they decided these pieces deserved a wider audience, leading to their inclusion in a national exhibition celebrating young literary talent. This recognition is not only a testament to the students’ hard work but also to the vibrant culture of creativity fostered within our school.

One of the published students shared their excitement:

“I never thought my writing would be published! It feels amazing to know that other people will read my story. It’s made me want to keep writing and maybe even become an author one day.”

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that over 30 pupils from our school have had their work published in this exhibition—a phenomenal accomplishment that highlights the ambition and talent of the next generation of authors, poets, and storytellers.

Parents and carers who would like to learn more about this initiative, view the published work, or explore opportunities for their children to get involved in future projects can visit the Young Writers website at www.youngwriters.co.uk or contact the school for further details.

Congratulations to all our young writers—you’ve made us proud!
