Great Yarmouth Charter Academy has stormed the leaderboard in this year’s England Rocks Times Table Rock Stars tournament, earning national recognition for its outstanding mathematical performance.

Out of all secondary schools across the country that took part, Charter placed an incredible 10th nationally—and clinched 1st place in the East of England for all secondary schools. When primary schools are included, Charter ranked 199th out of 4,356 schools, placing it firmly in the top 5% nationwide.

This phenomenal result is a testament to the dedication of Charter pupils and staff, who rallied together to represent their school with pride, speed, and accuracy in times table fluency.

“The energy and commitment from our pupils has been incredible,” said Ms Jade Nouri, Maths Teacher and lead organiser. “They’ve turned maths into a team sport—cheering each other on, staying late to compete, and showing what Charter spirit really looks like.”

The competition, which ran over several days, saw pupils logging in from classrooms and home to answer thousands of multiplication questions in real time.

Nicola Coe, Director of Maths for Inspiration Trust added: “Charter’s performance has been nothing short of outstanding. Their students showed determination, commitment, and an eagerness to work as a team. Their teachers are dedicated and supportive, helping students to understand the importance of mathematics and times table fluency. It’s schools like Charter that make England Rocks such a powerful way to celebrate maths.”

While the final results are still being verified, Charter’s position at the top of the East of England leaderboard is secure—and the school community is already buzzing with pride.

Principal Mr Rosembert summed it up best:

"Great work! Can we celebrate yet?”

Yes, Mr Rosembert. We absolutely can.
