We are thrilled to share some incredible news from the world of mathematics at Charter! Our talented students have achieved 3rd place out of eight competing schools in the prestigious East Maths Community Maths Challenge, held at Inspiration Teaching School Hub. This is a phenomenal accomplishment that showcases not only their mathematical brilliance but also their teamwork, resilience, and determination.

Representing GYCA were:

Year 7: Roland and Kaitlyn and Ella-Rose and Nathan

Year 8: Joseph and Mariyah

Year 10: Harry and Alex

These young mathematicians tackled complex problems under pressure and emerged victorious with bronze medals, certificates, and badges to mark their success. Their achievement is a testament to the power of hard work and aspiration.

Kirsty Isaacs, our dedicated Maths Lead who accompanied the team, shared her pride:

“They competed amazingly and were absolutely brilliant. I could not be more proud of them – their energy and commitment were inspiring!”

One of our Year 10 stars, Harry, reflected on the experience:

“It was challenging but exciting! Working as a team and solving tough problems made me realise how much we can do when we push ourselves.”

This success is more than just a competition result – it’s a reminder that mathematics opens doors to creativity, problem-solving, and future opportunities.

When we see these incredible students around school, please congratulate them on their amazing accomplishment. And yes – Charter Chocolates are on the way!
