West End Actor Inspires Our “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” Cast
Back
Gorleston-born performer Tom Major visited rehearsal on Saturday 31 January to share industry insights and cheer on our young cast.
On Saturday 31 January, the cast of Beauty and the Beast Jr. paused rehearsals for a brilliant and unexpected treat — a special visit from professional actor Tom Major. Tom grew up in Gorleston and is now making waves in London’s West End, with standout roles in Only Fools and Horses The Musical and the Richmond Theatre Pantomime.
Tom led a Q&A, sharing practical advice about training, auditions and life backstage. Our pupils asked insightful questions about breaking into the industry and how to build confidence on stage, before giving Tom a sneak peek of a few musical numbers from the show.
Tom Major inspired us in saying: “It’s fantastic to see so much talent and commitment right here on the coast. Keep saying yes to opportunities, be kind, and keep practising — that’s how you build a career in this industry.”
Joe Edwards, Director of Beauty and the Beast Jr.: “Tom’s visit landed at exactly the right moment. His warmth, honesty and tips have supercharged the cast — they left rehearsal buzzing to continue preparing for opening night.”
We are hugely grateful to Tom for giving up his time and sharing his passion with our students.
