Camouflaged Learning is a social enterprise that delivers bespoke activities to support and nurture the growth of resilience, rigour, and resourcefulness in young people, particularly in those who are under-confident, over-looked, under-represented, or at-risk from not engaging with opportunities in the wider life of the school and town.

The day began with a TED talk inspired Junior challenge, where the students were trained to overcome their personal fears and tackle public speaking. The challenge was designed to help the students build their confidence, capability, and capacity to do things they had never previously considered possible. Pupils learnt much more than they ever would about each other, their hopes, dreams, fears and aspirations for the future - from being a dog groomer, to a national boxing champion - pupils rose to the challenge of exposing their ambitions for the future.

By the end of the day, the students had completed a massive, seemingly impossible, real-world challenge, and they couldn't wait to be immersed in it. They had learnt about working together in ways that reflect the local work force including science, engineering, technology, medicine. Pupils learnt about the value of teamwork, communication, design, and much more - all while having fun and gaining new skills.

Dean Rosembert, Principal of Great Yarmouth Charter Academy who asked Camouflaged Learning to join the school said, "The Camouflaged Learning experience was truly transformative for our Year 8 pupils. It helped them develop their inner strengths and further their journey of our house values, including temperance, fortitude, justice, and prudence. The students learnt valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, all while having fun and gaining new experiences. We are grateful to Camouflaged Learning for their support to nurturing the growth of our young people, and we look forward to working with them again in the future."

One of the Year 8 pupils, Tom, said,

"I was nervous about the challenge at first, but I persevered, and it was such a great feeling when we completed it as a team. The team relay was my favourite part because it required us to work together and communicate effectively. I learnt a lot about myself and my classmates today, and I feel more confident in my ability to tackle challenges in the future."

The students were amazed by the experience, and they expressed their gratitude to Camouflaged Learning for helping them unleash their inner brave. They felt proud of their accomplishments and felt empowered to take on new challenges in the future.

Camouflaged Learning is deeply committed to its philosophy of learning through doing, and the success of this project is a testament to the effectiveness of their approach. The social enterprise is passionate about ensuring multi-faceted, long-lasting, meaningful outcomes of every single event they deliver.

Overall, the Year 8 pupils had an unforgettable experience with Camouflaged Learning, and they left the day feeling more confident, capable, and resilient than ever before.
