We are excited to announce that the Charter Players are presenting the musical production of Grease, School Edition!

This is a must-see for all parents and families of school-age children. The show is packed with amazing performances of popular old show tunes such as Grease Lightnin', Summer Nights, and the seat-raising Born to Hand Jive! Audience participation is guaranteed as this popular film and musical comes to Great Yarmouth Charter Academy from Monday 12th February. 

Over 50 pupils are involved in this production, and they have been working tirelessly to perfect every aspect of the show. From memorising their lines, songs, and choreography, to perfecting the lighting, sound, and stage design, this show promises to be a spectacular treat for everyone. 

Karen Wareham, our Musical Director is working hard to adapt the show to suit a modern audience with fresh young talented artists. She said,

“As the musical director, I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication that our cast and crew have put into this production. They have had to carefully recreate American lyrics and accents to immerse an audience right back to 1950s Rydell High. The performances are truly stellar, and I have no doubt that audiences will be blown away by the talent of our pupils.” 

Joe Edwards Gill, the school’s Head of Performing Arts champions the work of our pupils who invest time every week throughout the year to put on a unique and professional performance. He said,

"It's wonderful to see the pupils come together and work collaboratively to create something truly unique and impressive. Our brand new purpose-built stage and lighting system will take the production to the next level, and I cannot wait for audiences to see the hard work that has gone into this show." 

Our school has been buzzing with excitement, and the cast and crew are working almost daily, including every Saturday until the curtain is raised on Monday 12th February. The dedication and talents of our pupils are sure to shine through as they bring this amazing show to life.
