Year 9 pupils in Great Yarmouth have been taking part in a series of design challenges organised by Camouflaged Learning as part of the Norwich Science Festival. The challenges were designed to help the students develop valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, and creativity while working together to develop new ideas.

Throughout the program, the students were encouraged to collaborate, innovate, and solve problems in a safe and supportive environment. By doing so, they have been able to develop their confidence, skills, and understanding of what it takes to succeed as an entrepreneur.

One of the standout features of the program is its focus on building trust amongst the students. By working together on a series of challenges, they have been able to develop strong bonds and a sense of shared purpose, which has helped them to communicate more effectively and work together more efficiently.

Over the course of the Spring, the students will learn to design, create, and refine a product, helping them to consider their GCSE options, work experience, and future aspirations.

The program's success is in part due to the resources and expertise provided by Camouflaged Learning, who partnered with local schools and businesses and the events team at the Norwich Science Festival to create a truly collaborative environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

Sean Powell, Senior Vice Principal, said,

"I am delighted that Camouflaged Learning has been able to provide such a fantastic opportunity for our Year 9 pupils. This program is part of a wider strategy involving the Duke of Edinburgh award, local business sector and the Great Yarmouth Place Project to support the skills, health, and social action available to every pupil who attends Charter Academy."

Matt Bagley, the events organiser, also praised the program, saying,

"To watch pupils take part in their rocket building sessions, working out trajectories and aerodynamics was a particular highlight! This joint venture between Great Yarmouth Charter Academy, Camouflage Learning and Norwich Science Festival brought the best out by inspiring these talented youngsters."

Programs like these play an increasingly important role in inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs. By providing young people with the confidence and tools they need to succeed, we can create a more innovative and dynamic economy in our local area and ensure that our community continue to thrive.
