Over the last three years we have been building towards the opening of the GYCA Sixth Form.
As the outcomes for the main school continue to improve after three years of an academic curriculum, it is now time to open our own sixth form. A new sixth form block has also been built on our site and will open to young people from September 2022. The sixth form will have 140 places available to enable children to stay at our school from Year 7 until Year 13.
We aim to open our Sixth Form in September 2022 based on high quality recognised courses and the development of STEM specialism.
We will provide pupils with the opportunity to attend the best university courses in the areas that they wish to study, whilst ensuring that pupils also have the opportunity to gain degree apprenticeships and careers at 18.
We offer a wide range of A Level courses, ensuring that there is a course to suit every student. With top level teachers and partnerships with Jane Austen College and Sir Isaac Newton, we can assure the highest level of provision locally.
We believe that our Sixth Form can offer personalised, high quality and engaging teaching that larger colleges cannot. We are proud of the extensive experience, knowledge and commitment of our teaching staff at post-16 level.
Our sixth form is full time, offering students their full entitlement of guided learning hours. Each subject provides 180 guided learning hours, and sixth form students enjoy regular academic mentoring, supervised study, online learning and library sessions.
